While his work is strongly grounded in the pictorial traditions of artists such as Albrecht Durer and Gustave Doré, his aphotic delineations examine our most dismal societal realities, contending our ideas of the human condition, our own mortality constantly in question. His labyrinthine illustrations defy spatial and proportional conventions; depictions of anthropomorphic creatures and cadaverous figures are amongst the many inhabitants of his behemothic yet contemplative landscapes.
